Health Examination Unit

The government authorities or the clients (subjects) need accurate and reliable health examination results and reports from the health examination units. Regulations and requirements are therefore established for the selection and use of the health examination services. In response to the demand of the laws and regulations of the government authorities for accreditation of the health examination service, TAF has established the third-party accreditation service to ensure that the capabilities of health examination unit meet specific requirements.

At present, TAF accreditation service in the health examination is limited to the scope of the "Accreditation Program for the Criteria of Health Examination Procedures for Employed Alien after Entry (TAF-CNLA-A07)". For details, please refer to the service program.

The accreditation items in the "Accreditation Program for the Criteria of Health Examination Procedures for Employed Alien after Entry (TAF-CNLA-A07)" include the following:

  1. Serum immunization should include the following two items:
    LE0601/HE0601 RPR/VDRL test
    LE0602/HE0602 TPHA/TPPA/TPLA test
    LE0603/HE0603 FTA-ABS
    LE0604/HE0604 Treponemal EIA test
    LE0605/HE0605 Treponemal CIA test
    (LE0602/HE0602~ LE0605/HE0605) (choose at least one)
  2. Parasite inspection should include the following three items:
    LF0501/HF0501 Ova examination
    LF0502/HF0502 Identification of morphology
    LF0503/HF0503 Amoebic smear/stain examination
  3. X-ray examination should include the following item:
    FA0102 X-ray examination for employed alien after entry during their employment period
  4. The health examination process should include the following item:
    FA0101 Health examination process for employed alien after entry during their employment period (including physical examination)
  5. Items that can be applied for but not mandatory for medical examination hospitals/ laboratories:
    HF0427 Rubella IgG
    HF0430 Measles IgG

In accordance with “Article 2 of Regulations Governing the Designation and Management of Hospitals for the Health Examination of Employed Aliens after Entry”, the designated hospital shall simultaneously meet the following qualifications.

(a)  Being accredited as district and above hospitals,

(b)  Being accredited as teaching hospitals and

(c)  In performing the examination items and procedures of the health examination designated by the central competent health authority, the performance has been effectively accredited by accreditation authorities under the mutual recognition agreement of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation or other international laboratory accreditation authorities

Regarding the effective accreditation document mentioned in above (c), hospital(applicant) can file accreditation application which is regulated in "Accreditation Program for the Criteria of Health Examination Procedures for Employed Alien after Entry (TAF-CNLA-A07)".

Applicants are advised to read the “Laboratory and Inspection Body Accreditation Service Manual (TAF-CNLA-A01) “and "Accreditation Program for the Criteria of Health Examination Procedures for Employed Alien after Entry(TAF-CNLA-A07)" to understand the relevant regulations and application procedures to facilitate the accreditation.
