To follow the trend of development in conformity assessment of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) was founded on September 17, 2003 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs through integrating the domestic accreditation resources and merging the Chinese National Laboratory Accreditation (CNLA) and the Chinese National Accreditation Board (CNAB). The fund of TAF was donated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, national enterprises, and public and private enterprises.
